This report is about how formal and informal political participation of adolescents and young adults (16-27 years) in Amsterdam Noord, Nieuw-West, and Zuidoost relate to participatory inequality in the city. Differences in turnout in municipal elections have become larger and structural in recent decades, especially because turnout continues to decline faster in neighborhoods on the outskirts of Amsterdam than in the rest of the city (Vermeulen et al., 2020).
